Sunday mornings during The Rising Worship in CDC Building Room B-101

Sunday mornings during Celebration Worship in the Activities Building

On Sunday morning during the early worship hour, children will enter the Rising Worship Service with their families at 8:30am and then be dismissed from that service after the praise and worship time. They will be escorted by the P.O.W.E.R. Time Children’s Worship team for a time of exciting praise and worship just for children. After the Rising P.O.W.E.R. Time, parents should pick up their children from their Sunday school classrooms in the Administration Building.

On Sunday morning during the later worship hour, children will go directly to the Celebration P.O.W.E.R. Time at 11:00am in the Activities Building. There the P.O.W.E.R. Time Children’s Worship team will lead the children in a time of exciting praise and worship planned just for them. After the Celebration P.O.W.E.R. Time, parents should pick up their children from the Activities Building.

If you are visiting Ashley River, your child is invited to join us. During the Celebration Worship, a P.O.W.E.R. Time host or hostess (wearing a funny hat) will meet your child at the front, left of the sanctuary during the offering. Please have your child wear a security bracelet, provided in the pew rack, and bring the attached information card with them to meet the POWER Time crew. There is a section of the card with a matching number for you to keep as a parent so we can safely release your child back to you when you pick them up in the Activities Building.

What's Happening in P.O.W.E.R.Time?!

P.O.W.E.R. Time

The "P" in P.O.W.E.R. Time stands for prayer and to help remind our children to pray, we learned the five-finger prayer. As you fold your hands to pray, your fingers are in the following order as you move away from your body.

Thumb - our thumb is closest to us and reminds us to pray for the people closest to us (family, friends, etc.)

Index Finger - our index finger is used for pointing and reminds us to pray for the people in our lives who point us toward God (pastors, teachers, etc.)

Middle Finger - our middle finger is our tallest finger and reminds us to pray for those in leadership positions (the President, the Governor, etc.)

Ring Finger - our ring finger is our weakest finger and reminds us to pray for those who are weak or sick

Pinky Finger - our pinky finger or little finger is the smallest finger and reminds us to pray for ourselves (as God reminds us not to think of ourselves more highly than others)

P.O.W.E.R. Time

The "O" in P.O.W.E.R. Time stands for offering. To help our children understand a bit more about why we give tithes and offerings, we studied Deuteronomy 16:17.

"Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you."

God blesses each of us with the money we earn. He expects us to use that money to take care of our families and each other. He also expects us to trust Him by giving Him the first 10% of our earnings.

P.O.W.E.R. Time

The "W" in P.O.W.E.R. Time stands for worship.

When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

"Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!"

"Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"

"I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

Remember, if we don't praise God, the rocks will cry out to praise Him!

Luke 19:37-40

P.O.W.E.R. Time

The "E" in P.O.W.E.R. Time stands for excitement.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:6

P.O.W.E.R. Time

The "R" in P.O.W.E.R. Time stands for reverence.

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

Revelation 4:11

P.O.W.E.R. Time

Our time is a gift from God and we need to use it wisely.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:17
