Jason Brewer

The Rising Worship Leader

Born in Wilmington, NC in 1981 and raised in Summerville, SC. I have grown up in the church and have been surrounded by church music my entire life. I accepted Christ at the age of 12 at the John Guest crusade that came to Charleston in 1993. I joined Summerville Baptist church in 1993 as well. From an early age I have wanted to serve God through my music. I recognized from an early age that I had a gift and passion for music. I have played guitar for 14 years. I began playing in church when I was 14 years old and played at church all the way through high school and college. I helped lead worship with my high school chapel group while attending Northwood Academy. I graduated from Northwood in 1999. I went to play guitar in the Baptist Student Union praise team for several years of college at Charleston Southern University. I have been composing and performing my own songs since high school and continue to write and perform my personal compositions actively. The most rewarding time of worship has been the many chances I have had to work with my father in various worship settings. I have gained an exceptional amount of experience from him. I am very excited to begin work with Ashley River. I know that God has many exciting ministry opportunities at Ashley River and I am excited to be a part of them.

Psalm 33:2 (New International Version)

Praise the LORD with the harp;

make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
